The Teralta e-NG project in Brandon, Manitoba, is Canada’s largest e-NG initiative to date and the first int eh world to export e-NG to Japan. It is the result of strong pernerships Teralta established with Chemtrae, Linde, and Tokyo Gas.

Working together, the partners combine clean hydrogen and recycled CO2 via a methanation process to produce e-NG. Post-production, the e-NG and its environmental attributes are sold to the offtaker, Tokyo Gas.

$130 million investment

Teralta and partners cover 100% of capital investment including hydrogen and CO2 recovery & distribution

Cumulative reduction in emissions over project life (20 years)
The project in Prince George was complex but immensely satisfying as an important first step in our journey to a future where hydrogen is readily accessible at cost parity with fossil fuels. With over 2,000 tonnes per day of stranded hydrogen across North America that can be recovered and sold, we’re just getting started. Our second by-product hydrogen project is already in the works so stay tuned.
